Story telling-Concept map is a curatorial research project based on concept maps as new methods of approaching art. This research project focuses on storytelling, language, misunderstanding, narrative and structure among others.
A concept map is a diagram showing the relationships among concepts graphically. This open call is looking for concept maps that tell stories, ideas, characters, situations, emotions that connected in different ways can generate different stories in themselves. This can deliver an open-ended narrative rather than delivering a one dimensional and finite experience which is the aim of this project. So then if you feel like participating take yourself into a storytelling process and handwrite a concept map to tell it. Then scan it and send it by email. This project is aiming to publish a book with all the stories sent. Also the project will be presented in an exhibition and some of the concept maps will be selected to be the inspiration for short films scripts that will be filmed in Bristol in the following months. If you believe this project is interesting for you and will like to respond to it, you will be part of it as artist so please send your artist statement and images of your work too, which will be included in the project too. All the documentation of the project will be presented online and sent to each of the participants personally. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Seila Fernández Arconada by this following email: [email protected]
