We Invite Applications to Attend Mixing Fields Wed December 4th 2013, 6:30 - 8:30pm at Be.in.Bristol . Using the model of speed dating, the Mixing Fields team will facilitate one-on-one conversations in a friendly and stimulating environment, where people can meet, shed light on their specialisms and share their ideas for potential collaboration. Rather then random networking, this is a chance to meet the keen and the curious from a spectrum of backgrounds in an informal, but focused space. In this, our first event, we will host 10 artists with a range of practices and 10 academic and non-academic ‘specialists’. Brief details of participants’ current interests will be posted on the Mixing Fields blog before the night. We don’t expect you to have a proposal already up your sleeve, but we do want you to come with an open mind, happy to listen, keen to converse and open to collaboration. —————————————————————————————————————————————————- Places at the event are limited although we hope this will be the first of many Mixing Fields projects. We welcome applications from arts and other specialisms and we will be selecting guests based on their enthusiasm for collaboration and compatibility with each other. If you would like to attend please email [email protected] by Friday 29th of November. Please respond with a short paragraph to each of the following three questions: What is your main practice/ specialism/ interest/ field of work? What kinds of collaboration are you interested in working on? How do you think the Mixing Fields event will help you progress, in ways that other events or resources might not?
