Looking, backwards and forwards. (2011)
Digital photography series and video. Duration: 5min, loop. Silence sound.
This installation is displayed in opposites walls creating a narrative between them and the space. Upside down trees and a reflection of a tree on a pond are represented to create a metaphor.
This project represents a relationship between the future and the past, and how they connect in the space, in present time.
The images located upside down generate a dialogue with the coveted as the root become branches with no possible expansion. Whereas the projection in the opposite wall is a reflection of a tree on water that appears and disappears with the water rhythm, it creates an optical illusion.
The display emphasizes the awareness of the body movement of the audience as their way to look at is directed; either crouching down to see the images closer, reminding the idea of being a child, or looking far up to watch the video, as looking to the horizon.
